How to compare clothing measurements
Compare a garment you own with an individual product size chart, keeping flat measurements and body measurements separate.
Measure a garment that already fits
Start with a similar garment you like wearing. Lay it flat and smooth out wrinkles without stretching the fabric. Compare those measurements with the chart for the exact product and size. Letter labels such as M and L are browsing aids, not a universal US size conversion.
- For tops, measure the width across the chest below the armholes and the garment length.
- For trousers, compare the waistband width and the inseam from the crotch seam to the leg opening.
- Match the chart's measurement points and units. If the method is unclear, ask for clarification.
Keep flat width and circumference separate
Body measurements and finished garment measurements describe different things. A chest width measured across a flat top is not your body chest circumference. Confirm whether each chart value is a flat width or a circumference before comparing it.
For a simple flat garment, twice the chest width gives an approximate garment circumference. As an example, a 54 cm flat width is approximately 108 cm around the garment, not a recommendation for a 108 cm body chest. The example does not describe any product in this store.
When the listing has sizes but no measurements
Ask support for a chart or measured dimensions for the selected size. Include the product URL and the measurements of your reference garment. Do not choose a size solely from your height and weight or assume that another product's chart applies.
Check the selected option's availability and the return conditions before ordering. This guide explains a comparison method; the individual garment's measurements and your preferred fit determine your choice.
